About Nottingham Singing Lessons
All vocal tuition is given by Paul Laine, a professional singing teacher.
Over the years Paul has been giving vocal lessons to students from complete beginners who have never sang a note before, right through to seasoned professionals who have been looking to improve what they already have. Paul teaches all ages of students who wish to learn how to sing from young children as young as 6, right through to mature adults.
Paul himself is a professional singer, entertainer, musician and sound engineer, he is also one half of the acclaimed acoustic duo Eastbound and Down with Jack Donald ‘DipLCM’. Over the years Paul has travelled the length and breadth of the country whilst working as a professional singer, working all kinds of venues and occasions including vast experience on the cabaret circuit, clubs, pubs, restaurants, hotels, holiday camps, weddings and parties to name but a few.
Paul has been in and around the music business for many years. Singing Lessons Nottingham are given in conjunction with a wide variety of private music lessons taught by his wife Julie, who has run the acclaimed Nottingham Julie Donald’s Music School for over 25 years.
Paul is also involved in two of Nottingham’s prestigious open mic nights run every Thursday by Nottingham Music Producer Chris Bucknall, these are open mic nights with a difference as they feature a full band setup comprising of session musicians. These open mic nights are open to anyone who wants to get up and sing but have the luxury of a live band accompanying you, you are of course quite welcome to get up on your own also if you did not want to use the band. This type of open mic night are the ideal opportunity for students to go out and practice what they have learnt but in a live situation, it isn’t very often that the opportunity to sing with a live band comes around, so again, this is what these particular open mic nights are all about. This all helps to build confidence and knowledge of how musicians work together.
If you are looking to take gradings in singing then this is done through L.C.M (London College Of Music) in association with Julie Donald’s Music School.
